Serene Pregnancy
Birth & Postpartum Doula
Hi, I’m Marie
I’m a mother of two, Louis (born in 2019) and Céleste (born in 2021), and a former midwife from France. I offer personalised birth preparation and doula support to women and couples across the North Shore of Auckland.
Through my experience as a midwife, I have seen how unnecessary interventions and a lack of individualised support can profoundly affect a woman’s birth experience.
I believe women have an innate capacity to give birth.
When women are informed, supported, and emotionally held, they can approach birth with greater confidence, trust in their bodies, and a stronger sense of ownership over their experience.
I now focus on supporting women who choose homebirth with their midwife.
Birth is unpredictable. But you can prepare for whatever it brings.
Through one-to-one preparation, we explore your needs and wishes , build your knowledge, confidence, and practical tools, and help you feel ready for your birth.
I also encourage birth partners to be an active part of the preparation, so they feel informed, confident, and able to offer meaningful support throughout labour, birth and postpartum.
If you choose, I can also be there as your birth doula, offering continuous physical and emotional support throughout labour and birth.
For me, it all begins with connection; Taking the time to listen, understand, and build a relationship where you feel truly supported.
I look forward to connecting with you.
Marie
“We are incredibly grateful for the support and guidance we received through the birth preparation and breathing classes. As someone who experiences anxiety, I found the classes extremely reassuring and empowering. The techniques we learned helped me feel more prepared, confident, and in control leading up to labour, and I actively used many of them during the birth itself.
One of the most valuable aspects of the classes was that my partner learned practical ways to support me during labour (that was key for me). He was able to actively guide my breathing and help me manage the contractions by using a variety of comfort and pain-management techniques that we had learned in classes. This made a huge difference to both of us and helped us approach labour as a team.
I wholeheartedly recommend these classes, not only because of the excellent content but also because of the way they are delivered. Every session was conducted with warmth, kindness, compassion, patience, professionalism, and genuine care. The environment felt welcoming and completely free of judgment. We always felt listened to and encouraged to make informed decisions that were right for our family.
The knowledge, confidence, and practical tools we gained were invaluable, and we would highly recommend these classes to any expecting parents looking for preparation that is both informative and deeply supportive.”
