Kia ora,

I'm Sandy, and my role as an end-of-life doula is to encourage people to have conversations about death and dying before it’s too late. It’s not a clinical role - that’s for the medical staff, like doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and so on. I’m there to support you and your family or friends in practical and emotional ways. I provide information and education, help you with documents like an Advanced Care Plan (ACP), prepare you for what to expect, or simply sit at your bedside and hold your hand in the final days or hours. I'm happy to liaise with funeral directors or help you and your family plan a funeral that's just right for you, if that's what you want. When everything is uncertain, anything is possible.

Extra Services

As a celebrant, I work alongside individuals, couples or families and whānau to design  - and then deliver - funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies and celebrations for other significant life events.

Photographer, especially babies who have not survived.

Testimonials

Thank you so much Sandy, we really enjoyed having you here and our sister got so much from your support. I understand why she decided to gift you to us, it was such a relief to have your grace, expertise and care for her journey and ours.

I highly recommend celebrant and doula Sandy Millar, who conducted my wife’s funeral service with the utmost respect sensitivity and professionalism. Sandy was extremely empathetic and kind, helping coach me and my family through the entire experience, and spending time with us during the lead up to the funeral so we were able to feel comfortable with proceedings
