Chelsea Bootsman
Kia ora, my name is Chelsea and I am a homeschooling mum of 4 from Canada, but have been in Kerikeri for over 2 years.
I have over 10 years experience as a birth doula, childbirth educator, and photographer/videographer, and have attended over 80 very different births, in a variety of settings.
As a birth doula, I've done many different trainings, including Spinning Babies and Body Ready Method, and am passionate about how the body functions during labour and what sort of activities (labour positions) will help a mum have an easier birth.
I also like to focus on birth preparation and educating my clients on what to expect - general birth education, mental prep, body prep, and posptartum preparation. I find that when clients are well prepared, they are more confident going into their births.
I am also passionate about birth photography and the sotry that it tells - the connection between the family, and all the moments that are overlooked or easily forgotten. It's so difficult to remember everything that goes on, in the throws of labour, but photos help fill in the gaps!
