Liz Adcock-White
For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in life’s stages and transitions, particularly dying. My professional training in social work and palliative care, together with my personal experiences, have shown me the vital role of compassionate support at the end of life.
The Fifth Season is a doula service supporting individuals, families, and whānau through dying and grief, my gentle, considered approach honours death as part of the life cycle and grief as part of everyday life.
By creating a safe, and honest space in which difficult conversations can be held, I am guided by your priorities for living and dying well which may include practical, psychological, spiritual, cultural and relational considerations and tasks.
My role is to offer a non-medical cloak of support (palliare) where it is needed - facilitating and empowering your decisions and health care planning, advocating within the medical system, documenting your wishes for your final weeks (including after-death care and funeral wishes), and providing skilled grief and resilience support for you and your loved ones.
Our experiences are always unique, and support is available in every season. Please be in touch for a free initial chat or visit my website for further details.
